Neighbor Help
How can we help?
How do I get a grant for someone through Crossover Soundwaves?
Our niche in the homeless services continuum is to prevent homelessness or help with rapid rehousing efforts. We primarily work with families through Case Managers or others in the helping profession.
The Crossover Soundwaves Housing Grant is a resource provided by Crossover Soundwaves Inc. for people actively participating in a church or charitable nonprofit recognized by Crossover Soundwaves Inc. These are small grants for general assistance related to housing needs for low-income people.
Grant basics
- Regular access is for non-urgent grants to get into or sustain housing.
- The maximum grant amount is $500 if funding is available. The amount granted depends on available funds.
- The fund can also be used for more urgent and specific needs such as utility assistance, car repair, and similar housing-stabilizing expenses.
- A CSW representative can authorize requests up to $500 based on available resources; all higher amounts need approval from the CSW board.
The process
1.Who can request
Agency or church staff can access the Fund on behalf of their client. Staff from recognized agencies or churches must request the fund, as they are the conduits for access.
2.Document other resources
Other community resources should be accessed and documented on our forms for the presenting need before requesting funds through CSW.
3.Choose the right form
Requesting staff will indicate whether this is an emergency request (shorter turnaround) or if the request can wait for the regular processing time of about a week.
4.Attach documentation
An invoice, bill or other documentation will accompany the request for funds and will be submitted by agency staff to our representative for processing and records.
5.How checks are issued
Checks are generally made out to the company, organization or entity that the client needs to pay — not directly to the client — and mailed to the party requesting payment.
Real help for real families
In the past, we have helped single moms with financial shortfalls that threatened their housing. We have helped single working moms get cars repaired and cover rent and other unexpected bills that put housing for these families at risk. We have no paid staff at this point, so the money goes directly to the need.
Please consider a tax-deductible donation to Crossover Soundwaves Inc. to help families with housing needs.
